PRIVACY POLICY
Privacy and security policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026
At Dansciyiz UK we take the safety of your personal information seriously. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how we protect it and what your rights are. It covers our website www.dansciyiz.co.uk, our apps (Dansciyiz for customers and Dansciyiz Personnel for our performers, drivers and security), our phone line and our emails. We handle your information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Dansciyiz in Türkiye (www.dansciyiz.com) has its own privacy policy under Turkish law (KVKK).
1. Who we are
Dansciyiz UK is the “controller” of your personal information: we decide how and why it is used. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@dansciyiz.co.uk.
2. The information we collect
When you book or enquire: your name, email address, phone number, the party address and postcode, the date and time, the kind of party, the performers and packages you choose, notes you give us, the messages you send to us and to your performers, and the record of your bookings and payments. We never keep your full card number: only its last four digits, so you can tell which card you used.
When you make an account in our apps: the details above and your password. We never store your password itself, only a scrambled form of it that cannot be turned back into the password.
When you apply to perform with us (on the website or in the Dansciyiz Personnel app): your name, stage name, email address, phone number, date of birth, height and weight and nationality (if you give them), dance styles, the town or area you live in, your message and experience, and the photos and videos you send us. When you join us, also your public profile, your availability and the shows you do.
On the day of a show: performers’ and drivers’ phones share their location from “I’m on my way” or “Start trip” until they arrive, so the customer and our team can see them coming. Sharing stops by itself on arrival, and we do not keep a history of where you have been. Your phone asks your permission first. A performer who drives themselves takes a photo of their car with its number plate before setting off, which only our team sees. Messages and calls made through our apps go through Dansciyiz, so nobody sees anyone else’s phone number.
When you call us: our phone line may be answered by an automated assistant (artificial intelligence). We keep your phone number, the time of the call, what you asked for and a written record of the conversation, and calls may be recorded. A member of our team may listen in or take over the call to help you.
When you sign up for news: your email address and your agreement to receive our news.
Technical information: your IP address, the type of device and browser, and the times of sign-ins and requests. We use these to keep our services working, to find and fix faults and to stop misuse (for example, too many wrong passwords).
3. Why we use it, and our legal reasons
- To provide the service you ask for (a quote, a booking, the show itself, your account): because it is needed for our contract with you, or to take steps you ask for before one.
- To consider your application and, if you join us, to offer you shows and pay you: to take steps you ask for before a contract, and then for that contract.
- To answer calls and enquiries, keep records of them and check the quality of our service: our legitimate interest in running and improving our business.
- To keep our services safe, prevent fraud and misuse, and settle disagreements: our legitimate interest.
- To send you news and offers: only with your agreement, which you can take back at any time with the link in every email or by writing to us.
- Location sharing on the day of a show: your permission on your phone, which you can turn off in the phone’s settings.
- To meet the law (for example tax and accounting records, or a lawful request from the police or a court): our legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We share only what is needed, with:
- the performers, drivers and security booked for your party, who get the details they need to get there and do the show;
- companies that run services for us under contract and only on our instructions: Microsoft Azure (hosting our apps and data, and the artificial intelligence used on our phone line), our website and email hosting provider, our phone network providers (including Twilio, which connects calls made through our apps), our payment provider, Apple and Google (app delivery, and Google Maps in the Android app), and postcodes.io (finding a place from a postcode; only the postcode is sent);
- the police, courts, HM Revenue & Customs and other authorities, when the law requires it;
- a buyer or new owner, if our business is ever sold or reorganised, under the same protection.
5. Information sent outside the UK
Some of our service providers store or handle information in the European Economic Area or other countries. When that happens we make sure it stays protected as the UK law requires: the country has UK “adequacy” status, or the provider has signed the UK’s approved data transfer terms (the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum).
6. How long we keep it
- Accounts and bookings: while your account is open, and booking and payment records for 6 years after the booking, as UK tax law requires.
- Applications: until we have decided, and no longer than 12 months if you do not join us, unless you ask us to keep it for future shows.
- Calls and enquiries: as long as we need them to deal with your request and check our service, then we delete them.
- News emails: until you unsubscribe.
When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
7. How we protect it
Our website and apps use encrypted connections. Call recordings are stored encrypted, passwords are scrambled, and our team signs in with a second step (a code). Only the people who need information for their work can see it. If personal information is ever lost or seen by someone who shouldn’t see it and this puts you at risk, we will tell the Information Commissioner’s Office within 72 hours and tell you without delay, as the law requires.
8. Keeping your information correct
Please keep your details up to date in the app, or tell us if something is wrong, so we can keep your information accurate.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask whether we hold information about you and get a copy of it;
- have wrong or incomplete information corrected;
- have your information deleted;
- ask us to limit how we use it;
- object to us using it for our legitimate interests, and always object to marketing;
- receive information you gave us in a format you can take to another company;
- take back your agreement at any time, where we rely on it;
- not be subject to decisions made only by automated systems that have legal or similarly serious effects on you. We do not make such decisions.
To use any of these rights, email hello@dansciyiz.co.uk. We will answer within one month. It is free, unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive. We may ask you to confirm who you are first.
10. Cookies
Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our apps keep your sign-in on your phone so you don’t have to sign in every time. Signing out removes it. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings.
11. Age
Our services are for adults. You must be 18 or over to book, to make an account or to apply to perform with us.
12. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at hello@dansciyiz.co.uk and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk, phone 0303 123 1113.
13. Changes to this policy
We may change this policy from time to time. The new version applies from the day we publish it on this page, and we will tell you by email or in the app about any important change.
